3 Daves are better than 1 :O

These where just two of the shots that i got and photoshopped alittle in my level just to show what footage you`ll be getting from my level , i am uploading them to my FTP soon so that it will be easier to access them.

As for putting the narative idea up again seperate so its easier to read here it is again..

The Narative

The film starts with all the kids on the roof top of a building , over looking the wasteland/post apocolyptic place we talked about before , one of the Kids obviously being the Master is stood slightly to the right of them all to make sure the difference between them is clear. Suddenly they look around and parts of the roof begin to collapse around them , from then on they are in a deadly race following the Master following in down the building as quick as they can , obviously pulling off style moves , jumping through holes in the floors , over bits of rubble and such as the building is giving way , glass shattering all over the place , and alot of stuff going on , in these sequences , the tag element could be added to show that the apprentices are still having a laugh with each other , as most apprentice and master storys normally have the learner doing stupid things and being told off at the end or something , this could be shown by them using the tag element inside as the building collapses they are messing around whilst following the leader playing style move tag as they avoid stuff , so it becomes a deadly game of tag and a race for survival inside the building.

Eventually they reach ground level , and run down the street , and then when a safe enough distance away the Master clips one of the others round the back of the head to indicate that their deadly game of tag was not the best idea , again like in most storys like this , the trainee gets punished for being reckless and irrisponsible.

I had some feed back from everyone really apart from the lads obviously , the reason i came up with this idea is that it was something that myself and Jen could manage in that allocated time frame , because then we would just have to model a small section of an urban area rather than a huge expansive landscape thats for ever changing, that and because the narative idea fitted it easy and seems a great idea to go with , i only hope the lads like it too.

My Personal Concerns

On the other hand i do have personal concerns about the lads free running abilitys , in the practice they had no kinda organisation with in their group as to how to do things safely , and personally i think i need to go over with them how to do some things again , i know this may seem offensive to the lads , but there where alot of times in that session where there could have been a really nasty landing which could have ended up with a broken ankle and worse , so if possible i would like to arrange with Jo and who ever else to bring them back to go over some stuff , as i think its important that it is covered.

Filming against screens

On a final note , i am not sure weather you want me around for the filming Dave , but i am sure it would be a good idea just for safety reasons , i would rather test things out for myself to check that they are fine than you lot go , and something happen , that and also i am sure you`ll still need me around because of the terms that are being thrown around , obviously are not familiar , its like having a translator.

Will do another post when i have uploaded my section of the footage to my FTP , so keep an eye out , as for everything else , its looking really great :) , dont forget to keep looking up Free Running and Parkour stuff on Youtube and google to familiarize yourselfs with all of this , and have fun until i get back to you all :)

  1. Hi Dave, the lads really love your narrative idea and we will use that as a basis when we come to create the storyboards but obviously they really need to have a discussion about what it is they want out of it. I would really like to make sure that they feel like they have some ownership over this project. I see what you are saying about the moves and if we can arrange time to meet over the coming weeks then we will but they admit that they are rusty and are practicing much more after the session last week. I am sure they will appreciate your feedback though. The designs you have just posted look fantastic and after wednesday we should be able to post clearer ideas of where we would like to go with this. Your working really hard, your enthusiasm is just amazing!

  2. Hi Dave,

I'll feedback in more detail later in the week. As you can see from my latest post the green screen day will be on Monday 16th at Toxteth TV. It would be great if you were available as you see things from a different perspective to Adam and I, so your input would be useful.

Also Adam and I will be storyboarding the story before then. So I'd like to run it past you and Jenny for a final draft. Maybe we all meet up about 12/13th to discuss the shots to shoot?. How are you two fixed?
