Website Feedback

Hi Matt,

Good job. You've achieved what was in my head (no mean fete) and in places excelled it. I've added my initial comments (not cryptic :-P) to the images. On Friday if you can amend the visuals and upload them I'll advise further. Jo is now back so I can arrange to sit down with her to discuss the content. A pleasure to work with you!

  1. cool, will do my best...

Just a phone camera pic will do for the portraits next time you see each of the people, they would only need to be 200px tall, just adds a bit of personality. I like the idea of the thumbs of work, have you anything in mind for Adam though?

I think the space up top right could be used for thumbs so you have a bit more breathing room and then the text pop up in the boxes if we disregard the photos. The boxes could feature a web link at the bottom and the box itself would link to the personal sites if available, this would do away with need for a profile page as the profile info could easily fit into those boxes, they could even be extended a little if they're too busy.

For the extras box I was initially thinking of a shot the end scene/ infinity sign as this would be the main content of the section but the rough one on the blog wasn't doing it at such a small size. Like you said the images are just placeholders.

That particular photo is off getty images stock, its fairly plausible we bought it for $2, it's not a google image from anyone's personal work. I'll sort through the concept images I put together for the site as I think we can get away with the Getty comp images, I'm not sure how they would enforce tracking how their images are used and who paid for the web sized ones or not?

I might have found a drum & bass DJ who programmes orginal music, He's sending some stuff to one of the guys at greenhouse on thursday, he knows it's for this project so I assume he isn't after any money.
I'm not sure how flexible he'd be for scoring an orginal peice to fit with the vid, but at this point we might be best just to take a track and cut it in places we need dynamics, I'm sure it's a breeze in FCP.

If you let me know when the editing meeting is I can come down and transfer the sfx to your laptop, and depending on when it is and how much time I have over the weekend and next couple of days maybe transfer the titles and credits too, bring a HDD!

that was a lot of typing, cheer matt

  2. Well done on everything so far, you've certainly transcended the original graphic design job role! Put your suggestions into the next visuals as its late and my brain is frazzled. Keep an eye on the blog for the details on the editing day. Now get some sleep I'll let you and Dave get 4 hours every 72 hours. Industry standard ;-)
